Sleepless nightS!!!

Mummy had 2 nights of sleepless night as the weather is terribly hot and humid even though the fan is blowing directly to her. Mummy is perspire and not able to fall asleep. She trying to find a comfortable position but can’t, gynae advise mummy to sleep on the side and every morning wakeup, mummy is having numbness on the hand and thigh. Sometimes it gets so bad that mummy wonder will it cause stroke as the whole left side of the body is numb.

Today, mummy wake up like zombie and is having headache and numbness on the hand still (sleep till the muscle near the elbow hurts when stretch) cause she can’t fall asleep till 4+am in the morning, even thought she went to bed at 12+ , but been tossing around , waking up to go toilet while daddy sleeping like a pig.

Mummy is going to fall sick if she still can’t sleep well at night. She has make up her mind, if too hot, she will just blast the air con, with me inside, mummy temperature is high + she all along can’t stand the heat, this kind of weather makes it worse. If daddy cannot stand the cold, he should go and wear clothes and put thick blanket. I support mummy, because mummy can’t sleep, means I can’t sleep too. Grrr…...

Feeling Down

Lately, mummy has been feeling frustrated and easily get agitated and stressed up over things that mummy used to able to handle.

Mummy can suddenly feel sad and cried out when thinking of grandma especially knowing grandma health is not doing well as she is diagnosed with high blood, diabetes and recently she has difficulty walking. Maybe mummy is just missing home as the last time she went back CNY or she is stressed up with my arrival as she has no idea how is it like and what to expect. Mummy is the type of person who need to know the expectation before hand, she can she can plan and expect that is coming.

Changes in hormones; stress from work and others worries all add up to mummy's roller coaster emotion. As the EDD is getting nearer, mummy start to feel the stress whether she can finished the job at work before go on maternity leave; worries whether she know what to do when the labour comes; whether can make is to the hospital; is daddy with mummy when it happen. How’s the delivery like, scare of the pain and side effects, whether can cope with me, will she gets post natal blue as there are so many rules during confinement and etc… Mummy tried hard to control and takes it slowly, but sometimes it is just out of control.

Every day , mummy is “sian” of what to eat for dinner, get frustrated with the student crowd during lunch and after work crowd as she is taking bus and train and no one is offering seats and mummy need to hold on very hard to the handle as the bus driver nowadays drive recklessly while she is sandwiched with all the students. Sometimes mummy will end up taking cab back as she is too tired and frustrated, however, she tried to reduce it as daddy been constantly remind mummy to save money and etc…

Another 2 more months to go, hopes mummy can “tahan” and daddy can be more encouraging and supportive, the last thing that mummy need is to get agitated, frustrated or stressed. She need to do things calmly and slowly(due to fatigue). Wish grandma can come early to help and accompany mummy and distract her from all this frustration, worries and stress.

Follow up visit on GD

We visited Dr. Selina last Sat to follow up on mummy's prick test reading after 2 weeks of monitoring. Dr. Selina commented mummy's need to work harder as some of the reading is not as ideal especially reading after dinner. Dr. Selina said mummy no need to do the test everyday, just twice a week, however, need to try harded to control the reading. Mummy will tried to cook dinner at home, hopefully mummy wont' be too stress to do so, as mummy have out of ideas what else to eat cause the restricted diet has been hard and caused mummy to lost appetite. Mummy lost 1+ kg but I gained 0.2kg and weight 1.6kg @Wk30& 2D.

After the visit, we went to Ikea trying to find cabinet to store my stuff. However, not able to find any and most probably we will get the Toyogo cabinet from NTUC or Giant.

We had lunch at Jackplace as well, mummy enjoy the food very much. Finally can eat something nice and wont' cause the glucose level to go up.

Gifts

Mummy received 2 gifts last Friday. One from Aunty Marjorie - a Minnie soft toy from HK Disneyland. Thanks Aunty Marjorie, I can play with it later.

Mummy is getting aunty Jacinta help to get a Thermal Pot from Robinson sales as mummy need to get one to boil or stew dishes. This thermal pot is not using any electricity and can save money on electricity. Thanks aunty Jacinta for helping to get one and thanks Aunty Kwei Heong, mummy's boss as she's paying it and give us as a gift as she says she don't know what to get for mummy later.

Wk 30 - Last Class and Chinese Name

The pre-natal class has ended with the post-natal baby care lesson. We actually still have the baby massage lesson to be arranged 1 month after birth, and one more seminar to attend at Mt E in 2 weeks time. This includes the hospital tour as well as talks on stemcord and some other baby topics.

After that we went IMM to buy more stuff for me for what's leftover from the shopping list.
Still waiting for the delivery next week for Taka stuff that was bought last week ....

Finally after a long search, I've got my chinese name as well - 關俽婷 meaning joyous and graceful... yeah!!! It sounds like Yan Teng in Cantonese and Xin Ting in Mandarin. Sounds nice and easy to the ears....

Wk 29 - Pre Natal Class 5 & Taka Fair

This is the 2nd last lesson that mummy and daddy need to attend and the topic class is about breastfeeding. The instructor this time is Sara, a lactation consultant from NUH who just give birth in May and still breastfeeding. She explained the benefits of breastfeeding, how to be successful in breastfeeding(proper latching, massage and etc...) and the problems encounter during breastfeeding. The lesson is informative and hopefully mummy won't be too stress up to breastfeed me.

After the lesson, we went to Taka fair to buy items that we still yet to purchase. Daddy spend 650+ for a Maclaren XT stroller with comfort set, a safety mattress and some others small items like wipes, detergent and etc... It was to crowded, we got to queue to pay and arrange for delivery and the items will be arrived 2 weeks later. By then mummy can start setting up my nursery room.

We finish shopping at around 5+pm and we had a early dinner at Sushi Tei. Mummy enjoy the food very much cause she has been on controlled diet for few days due to GD. After a busy day, we headed home to have a good rest.
